Article Submission & Article Download Process

This journal accepts electronic submission of articles through website login, with submission instructions that can be found on the journal website at Scientia Biologica Indonesia . Authors can access the formatting guide by clicking on the "Sample" section under the " Scientia Biologica Indonesia " menu. The editorial team is ready to provide assistance to prospective authors and can be contacted via email at lmmunadi@gmail.com for questions not related to formatting.

The journal seeks concise articles presenting original research data or methodology from global contributors. The journal has a strong tradition of publishing work in all areas of agricultural sciences, including crop and crop sciences, soil sciences, animal sciences, environmental sciences, and the interactions between these fields. Manuscripts that cover new technologies or scientific concepts, especially those related to genetics, biochemistry, biophysics, and molecular biology, and their applications in agriculture, are encouraged. Although limited, the journal also considers high-quality articles on agricultural economics and the reciprocal impacts of agriculture on society. In addition, the journal occasionally publishes invited critical reviews on topics of interest to its readers.

Authors must inform the editor if the submitted material has been previously published. Once accepted, the article must not be published elsewhere in the same form. Experiments involving animals must comply with the legal requirements of the country where the research was conducted. In general, work that is based on limited experimentation or is of only local interest will not be considered suitable for publication in this journal.

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPT

Manuscripts written in English should be submitted for review through the website at Scientia Biologica Indonesia . The recommended word processing software is Word, and for graphics, TIFF and JPEG formats are preferred. Authors should clearly state the file format used. When submitting a manuscript, authors should remove their names and affiliations from the document but provide this information in the metadata during the submission process.

LAYOUT AND STYLE

This journal uses a single-blind review process, which ensures that the identity of reviewers is protected. The full name and address of the institution where the research was conducted must be provided. Changes in address may be indicated as a footnote. Corresponding authors should be indicated by an asterisk (\*) next to their name and address, indicating where proof of correction should be sent, and their email address.

Font type: Times New Roman

Font size: 12

Line spacing:2.0

Line numbers: Continuous line numbers from the beginning of the article to the end of the document are required.

TITLE PAGE

The title should be clear and informative, but brief, avoiding abbreviations. The title should capitalize all significant words and, if applicable, name the organism studied. In addition, a short title of no more than 16 characters should be included for use in the running headline.

ABSTRACT

The abstract, placed at the beginning of the text, should provide a brief overview of the background and objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions in the order specified, without using subheadings. Failure to follow this guideline may result in rejection without review.

MAIN TEXT

In general, the article should be divided into four main sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion, with References placed at the end. Combining Results and Discussion into one section is not acceptable, and redundant subheadings should be avoided. Before the References section, there should be a “conflict of interest” statement and a statement of the authors’ contributions.

The introduction should provide context for the work, present important background information, and include a brief statement of the purpose of the study. A comprehensive literature review is not required. Details of the experimental materials, design, techniques, and statistical methods should be provided. Statistical guidelines are available upon request. Numerical results should be presented in tables and not repeated in the text. Only SI units should be used (e.g., kg ha-1, mg L-1), with 'L' capitalized when referring to liters (e.g., mL). The use of percentages should be limited to describing relative changes. Experimental details and results should be reported in the past tense.

The Discussion should integrate the results, relate them briefly to other work in the field, summarize implications and applications, and present the authors' conclusions. Repetition of results in the Discussion section should be avoided as it may affect the outcome of the review. Footnotes are not allowed. All abbreviations should be explained fully when first used, and sentences should not begin with abbreviations.

TABLE:

Tables should be numbered consecutively according to the order of citation in the text. Numerical results should be presented as means with associated standard errors. Least Significant Difference (LSD) values should be included in the table or as a footnote, and alphabetic letters should be used with the means to indicate significant differences. Typically, means are rounded to one decimal place, while standard errors should be reported to one decimal place more than the mean. Table titles should describe their contents in detail and explain any abbreviations used. This journal prefers minimal use of asterisks, superscript letters, etc., in tables, and asterisks should not indicate statistical significance.

PICTURE:

Figures should be used to display results where many values are presented, making interpretation difficult if presented in tables. Figures should not duplicate data already shown in tables and should be cited in the text. Figures should be included in the text in an appropriate position as figure files, but high-quality versions should be provided separately if requested by the editorial office. All files should be clearly named. Each figure should have a detailed legend that makes it easy to understand, including an explanation of the parameters, treatments, and statistical analyses used.

REFERENCE:

In the text, references should be cited by stating the author's name followed by the year of publication in parentheses. For sources with three or more authors, cite the first author's name followed by "et al.". The reference list should be placed at the end of the text, arranged alphabetically.

ARTICLE PROOF

Proofs will be sent to authors in PDF format to allow verification of typesetting accuracy and must be returned within 2-3 days. Once a manuscript is accepted, no changes may be made to its content. The author list and author order will remain as they appear in the accepted manuscript.

Statistical Notes for Authors

Scientia Biologica Indonesia adheres to strict standards for the statistical methods used in its articles. While a comprehensive review of accepted statistical analyses cannot be undertaken here, it is important to highlight common practices preferred by editors to expedite the review process.

SUBMISSION OF A REVISED MANUSCRIPT

When submitting a revised manuscript based on reviewer and editor comments, the author should provide a detailed response to each question in a separate file along with the revised manuscript. The revised manuscript should highlight the changes made using red font.
